Dear Future Clients:
I cannot begin to express how much having my sister In-law, Marla Straschewski start up such a much needed business as "Marla's Mobile Miracles"......something like this is long over due..........
Until you find yourself in a situation where you can't leave your own home you can you appreciate what she brings to you personally....?
Several year's ago my husband was diagnosed with a terminal illness; our world was crashing in.....
And the one thing we needed to maintain was his appearance; a well groomed man to begin with was something he felt to be very important in his personal life & professional life........as we all do.....as human beings....
Getting him to "Barber Shops" was near impossible....
Marla came to him, with her kindness, sense of humor, and professionalism......
Besides that he looks forward more than anything just to be in the company of her......she makes him laugh!!!!
Currently he is now taken care of by the professional staff at Cranbrook Hospice here in our home and also when he goes into "respite" at St. Joseph Hospital......and Marla's Mobile Miracles are right there for him.....she goes to the hospital and shampoos and cuts his hair as well as shaving his face to make him feel good about himself, it's all about dignity......
As for me, Marla's Mobile Miracles takes care of me too, the primary caregiver.....Talk about grey hair, only your hairdresser knows for sure!!!
And as a primary caregiver, we tend to forget about ourselves completely, which is the last thing we should do.....
If we don't take care of ourselves, how can we possibly give the best we can to those we need to take care of???
We need to take care of our needs too.....
She takes care of my hair; color, high lights low lights and my manicures, and ends up laughing with me.....which is the best medicine in the world when you're caught in a life altering situation like ours.
I am very proud of Marla, not only because she is my sister In-law, but because she cares deeply about her clients, always goes the extra mile, gives from her heart and she gives her all in her professional life...... Marla's Mobile Miracles comes to you; whether it’s in the hospital, your home, assisted living, rehab, or nursing home.
She is always dressed in bright cheerful colors, full of energy, friendly, always and a smile on her face, completely organized down to every detail that she needs to make you feel special and pampered. It’s all about YOUR DAY!!I truly believe everyone needs a dose of Marla! She certainly lifts my husband’s spirits as well as mine. I can assure you that she will life yours as well.
She is a blessing for the "baby boomer's" that are caught in between their children and their parents for whom they have to care for....

Dear Future Clients,
It all happened suddenly; so fast and with no warning whatsoever I had heart failure and suffered a stroke in September 2008. It left me paralyzed on my entire left side. I was taken to the hospital and upon discharge I was than admitted to Georgian Manor in Bloomfield Hills. I spent several months there, where luckily I was thrilled to have met Marla Straschewski, owner of Marla’s Mobile Miracles. A beauty salon on wheels…how great is that? She travels to homes, assisted living facilities and hospitals. She works at the Rehab Facility 2 days a week and what a difference she made in my world!!! She was so caring and concerned with how “I was feeling and progressing”. She always stopped in to visit me in my room the days she was there working in the salon. She was a burst of sunshine and energy for me. So uplifting and motivating I just adored seeing her.
I scheduled a manicure with her while I was there and she was so gentle. (Remember I was totally paralyzed on my left side; my arm and hand and fingers didn’t even move. I couldn’t even keep my fingers spread so she could do my nails. She was gentle and very in tune with what I was having difficulties with. She was an absolute dream come true. She did the BEST manicure on me that I have ever gotten. My nails were beautiful, hot pink, gorgeous and the polish lasted for over 4 weeks. I felt like a totally different person after spending time with Marla. When I was discharged and got back to my home Marla called to welcome me back home and at that time I scheduled her to come to my house to do my hair; My roots were terrible!!!! She colored and cut my hair (did a FANTASTIC job) and also gave me another fabulous manicure.
I cannot thank you enough for all you have done for me. My spirits are so much better, during our visits and certainly afterwards.

I just wanted to drop you a note to let you know how happy my residents and myself were with your first visit to Nannie's Inn. Lula had been asking for a couple of weeks to get her hair permed and set and after you left she was sooo happy to finally have it done. We all made such a fuss over her I loved how she just beamed for two days. My Aunt was also very happy with her cut and plans to have you back to do some highlighting.
Thanks a million for making this so easy to get done at my home since both women are wheel chair bound.

It was a pleasure to meet you last week. When you knocked on my door and said “hello I am Marla, I am here to cut and blow dry your hair, ” I opened the door and was absolutely awed when I saw how glamorous you were. I certainly haven’t come across a “hairdresser” quite as color coordinated and put together as you were ever!!! You were so organized and seemed to have covered every detail in regards to what you might need to do my hair. …….you are amazing!!!
From the moment you walked into my home you were friendly, so considerate in regards to my special needs, pleasant, gentle, caring, bubbly personality and most important a perfectionist when it came to washing, cutting and blow drying my hair. You left my home immaculate, without even a trace of a hairdresser in sight. Except for how beautiful my hair looks and feels.
As I mentioned to you I have severe Rheumatoid Arthritis (I am wheel chair bound) and it is extremely difficult for me to get around. Your shampoo was truly a delight… It felt like I was sitting in a beauty salon chair. . . . . . . . .to think that this was done in the comfort of my own home still amazes me. It is very hard for me to shampoo my own hair as you saw how crippled my hands and fingers are. …….I also told you that I cannot walk as my knees are also severely inflamed. I just love my hair, probably the best haircut I have had in a long time. I feel very blessed to have found you through the Home Health Care Company Senior Helpers…..Barbara.
Thank you so much for coming out to my home to do my hair, and I now know that I can call “Marla’s Mobile Miracles” to the rescue and you will be out here again to do my next haircut. I will be calling you in about 6 weeks.

I just wanted to thank you again for the kind and wonderful service you are giving my 90 year old mother-in-law Lillian.
When I read the newspaper article in February about Marla's Mobile Miracles, I was thrilled that such a service was available, and amazed that we could get on your schedule so quickly.
You have been such a God-send to us and Lillian! As you know, Lillian is on an assisted living unit for Alzheimer patients. She had been going down to the first floor hair salon, but that wasn't working out. (She really became very anxious and distressed sitting in a salon.)
Since you have been doing her hair and nails, it is like a weekly visit from a friend; she is very happy and comfortable and her hair looks great. She really enjoys the personal attention and the loving way you do her hair in her own apartment at Sunrise.

Dear Marla,
I am so glad that I found you! Normally my mother gets her hair done weekly at a salon. My mother has Alzheimer’s and hasn’t driven in two years. I wasn’t able to drive since I had surgery a month ago and I ended up back in the hospital for a few days and missed my mother’s normal hair appointment. The salon she goes to isn’t even open on Monday and Tuesday and today is Monday and my mother needed her hair done since she is going for respite for 2 weeks.
I had clipped out the article that I saw in the Jewish News about your service. I was so glad that you were available when I needed you to come to the house and do my mother’s hair and nails. As soon as we met you knew who I was. You were so kind and friendly and put my mother at ease right away.
I never knew such a service existed. I will most likely need your service again in the future and won’t hesitate to call you. I will tell everyone who might need an in-home hairdresser/manicurist for their elderly parents to call you! You are very special to be doing a greatly needed service! You’re a blessing! Marla was recommended to us through the Mercy Hospice Program. We needed to get our Dad home from the hospital with just a few days notice, and after 6 weeks he was in desperate need of a shave and haircut.
Marla not only fit us in on a Sunday morning, but was compassionate, friendly, and had helpful suggestions during her visit.
She not only helped us out with our Dad, but came to the house and helped out with my Mom's hair the next week.
Not only is Marla professional, but she has followed up with us following our Dad's passing, just to see how we are doing.
It's nice to see that there is still someone who provides some good old fashioned care and services to the elderly and care about the people they are helping.

It was a pleasure meeting you. I was SO THRILLED when I read the article in the paper about your business Marla’s Mobile Miracles. My mother isn’t able to get out and about and all I have been hearing her complain about is “wanting her hair done and nails manicured”.
My mother moved in with us about a year ago……..; she has Alzheimer’s. It is extremely difficult for me or any family member to get her out of the house.
As soon as I read the article I went into the family room and said “mom, your request has been answered”!!! She said, someone will come to the house and do my hair and nails?
When you came to our house to do her hair and nails, you were more than we could have ever imagined!! You were bubbly, personable, organized, (had everything a salon would have and more) gentle with her, attentive to all of our needs and most important you made my mother feel so safe and comfortable. She loved her beautiful new hair style that you gave her…….and SO DID WE!! She actually carried on a conversation with you more than she has with us in quite a while. I know that she enjoys so much having the personal attention and “the pampering hour” (we call it that) that you “always” give her. She absolutely loves you and is thrilled now that she knows you come every week to see her and do her hair and nails.
Thank you also for the wonderful brownies that you brought for her “88th birthday”.
